Valley View Appliances Ltd. is now hiring for the full-time position of a journeyman Appliance Technician.  The qualified individual must have a minimum of two years experience.  Must be a honest, clean cut, self-motivated individual, willing to work as part of a winning team.  Good communication and organizational skills are key!

We are looking to hire on a contract or a commission basis.  The qualified applicant will be expected to be incorporated and carry two million commercial liability and vehicle insurance.  Refrigeration experience and a well-rounded product knowledge will be an asset.  Qualified individuals must supply their own tools, company appointed uniforms, laptop or net book with air card, minimum fast moving parts inventory, cell phone, and a clean, well -maintained vehicle.  The applicant must be bondable and be willing to comply with our company drug policy.

The job will entail working alone and directly with customers.  Daily communicating with customers, staff, and at times manufactures will be required.  You will need to be able to diagnose appliance problems and find repairable solutions.  Filling  out online invoices accurately via self supplied laptop or net book and collecting monies when required.  Submit paper work daily via computer, order parts and follow up in a professional manner with customers and staff.  Attend mandatory service training schools and continue to stay current with products that are serviced.  Our technicians start and end their days from home as our mapping software allows for this.  Mobile debit machines will be provided as well as training for our state-of-the-art software.  Billing is done electronically via your laptop or net book and we pay every two weeks on completed and paid invoices. 

Compensation for the contract position is 65% of the labour portion of a completed service call.  The labour rates are determined by our online appliance blue book-flat rate system, or preset by the manufactures warranty rates.  Parts that are supplied by the contractor are paid at cost + 15% of the profit.  Any warranty parts required are pre-paid by Valley View.  Mileage rates charged are paid 100% to the contractor.  **Average full time technicians can expect approx 7-10K per month depending on their completion rates and experience.  (** these totals will vary depending on various factors)

We are looking to hire on a contract or a commission basis.  The qualified applicant will be expected to be incorporated and carry two million commercial liability and vehicle insurance.  The qualified individual must have some plumbing and electrical experience.  A  second year plumber typically is a good fit for this position.  A class "C" gas ticket would be an asset.  Qualified individuals must supply their own tools, company appointed uniforms, laptop or net book with air card, minimum fast moving parts inventory, cell phone, and a clean, well-maintained vehicle that allows for transport and delivery of smaller household appliances.  The applicant must be bondable and be willing to comply with our company drug policy.

The job will entail working alone and directly with customers.  Daily communicating with customers, staff, and at times manufactures will be required.  You will need to be able to install appliances to the manufacturers specifications as well as to current building codes.  Some heavy lifting and transport of appliances will be expected.  Filling out online invoices accurately via self supplied laptop or net book and collecting monies when required.  Submit paper work daily via computer, order parts and follow up in a professional manner with customers and staff.  Providing professional quotes when requested.   Attend mandatory service training schools and continue to stay current with products that are installed.  Our technicians start and end their days from home as our mapping software allows for this.  Mobile debit machines will be provided as well as training for our state-of-the-art software.  Billing is done electronically via your laptop or net book and we pay on the 5th of the following month on completed and paid invoices.  Some paper copies may need regular submitting for select suppliers.

Currently we have enough work to fill between two -three days in and around Edmonton, AB.  We also limited work in and around Calgary on select Saturdays.  This current requirement may increase as demand grows.
